Renegade MCX 250 owner's review
« on: March 01, 2012, 04:30:29 PM »
Went to MCX factory and bought the Renegade 250. Paid with a checque and I'm expecting delivery this coming Tuesday or Wednesday.

first Impression is WOW !

Not so tall, I'm 5'8'' and both my feet are both flat on the floor. GOOD.

I tried the kick starter although a little stiff, I was able to do it. I expect it to soften up one the break in period is over.

Horseshoe frame from steering post to engine then all the way back to rear frame. Design is adequate but not as good as my Granstar CG 150.

Welding is sloopy, that's what you expect from manual welding. Unlike my Euro weld, which are done by robots. No like; but that's what you get for your money.

BTW, the quoted Cash Price was 85K Pesos. I was able to haggle it down to 77K, all from email...

Here's the front engine mount of my Granstar CG 150. Both tube is welded from the steering post.

Special trip ito sa Marilaque. As usual break in as per Dan's method. Like what I did with my other MC's

http://www.dansmc.com/engine_breakin.htm

I plan to replace the original oil when I get it back home. To flush all production metal filings (rebaba) like what I did with my Granstar. Then at 300kms, then at 1K kms odometer reading.

Metal filings from my Granstar 150 after only 30 kms.

Quick throttle.

To tell you frankly, I prefer the traditional throttle set up. It's very hard to maintain a smooth cruising speed with a QT. But we'll see.
